Over two hundred years of local, social and industrial history are illustrated on the original site of the Garrett engineering works.

Situated in the historic Suffolk town of Leiston, 4.6 miles from the coastal town of Aldeburgh and 5.1 miles from the famous Snape Maltings, the Long Shop Museum offers the opportunity to explore a superb collection of unique and fascinating exhibits, all within one of Suffolk's most historic buildings. A visit to the Long Shop Museum is a great day out for the whole family and an ideal place to discover the history of Suffolk Coastal area.
Visit the famous Grade II listed Long Shop, believed to be the earliest purpose built production line in the country, as well as the Grade II water tower with the deepest well in Suffolk.

Exhibitions and displays at the Long Shop Museum include the Garrett story, the World War II Leiston USAAF and 1917 Zeppelin crash at nearby Theberton, there's the superb collection of agricultural machinery and steam engines and the Museum's newest addition: the works steam shunting engine Sirapite, recently restored in a £90,000 Heritage Lottery Funded Project to full working order.
