Friday 20th – Saturday 21st October
As British Summertime draws to a close, we will be turning up the heat with a fabulous weekend of engines in steam, an array of ales and some toe-tapping tunes to keep you entertained after hours.
We are delighted to be working in partnership with CAMRA, the Campaign for Real Ale as well as showcasing some great musicians on Saturday evening to help turn the Long Shop into a veritable ‘Cathedral of Sound’.
The festival kicks off from 5pm on Friday night and the museum is open until 11pm on both evenings to give revelers a chance to sample some of the fifteen different high-quality ales, ciders and wines selected by the Ipswich branch of CAMRA. On Saturday it opens at 11am, with full day of exciting sounds, sights, tastes and smells, not least through the hiss and rumble engines in full steam.
There will be an open mic session during the day and to whet your appetite further, some scrumptious refreshments hot and cold, savoury and sweet, to keep you fortified. This will lead into one of our much loved and time honoured ‘end of season‘ events on Sunday – Final Fling, where the bar will remain open, but the steamy attractions even more plentiful, along with a range of stalls.
Ticket prices to follow but admission will include a free Long Shop Museum pint mug. For full details, watch this space.
