Our 2019 season is here…!

We have opened for the 2019 season and are now offering all our visitors the chance once again to see our fantastic museum, telling the fascinating story of the Garrett Family, the Leiston Engineering Works and its important part in the industrial revolution. We have a huge collection of products made at this once world famous site for you to browse along with stories of the works and its influence locally and globally.

Our events starts in style on Sunday, 31st March with our fantastic Steam Up & Activity day. There’ll be something for every member of the family – come along and join us!

CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19) UPDATE

Temporary Museum Closure

Following advice from the Government and Public Health England regarding social distancing to reduce the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) the Long Shop Museum has temporarily closed until further notice

The health and safety of our visitors, volunteers and staff is our top priority. We will monitor and review the closure period and update our website and social media with relevant news as and when we have it.

All our events, bookings and activities have been postponed or cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience and ask you to please bear with us as we work through this difficult time.
